Summer Check-In: Attitudes Towards Treatments of Anxiety

Rebecca Grunberger '23 investigates Psychotherapy

Allentown, PA (10/25/2022) — The goal of this research project is to assess participants' attitudes towards the use of anxiolytics as well as psychotherapy across various age spans. Rebecca was especially interested in investigating this by looking at fixed and growth mindsets, and how these mindsets play a role in participants' perceptions towards the use of medication and towards psychotherapy.

"I am extremely grateful to have conducted research with the Muhlenberg psychology department and Dr. Rudski, and we intend to publish a paper based on this research, as our findings show interesting results concerning growth and fixed mindset as well as safety and identity concerns associated with different age brackets."
