Muhlenberg's Class of 2025 will celebrate commencement on Sunday, May 18, 2025 at 10 a.m., in the PPL Center (Allentown). Ceremony speakers include award-winning psychologist and Muhlenberg honorary degree winner, Beverly Daniel Tatum, Ph.D., President Kathleen E. Harring, Ph.D., and graduating students Teigan Brown (Bachelor of Science degree in neuroscience) and Christine Compton (Bachelor of Business Administration). An honorary degree will also be awarded to alumna Jacy Good '08.

Congratulations to Muhlenberg College's class of 2025 master's degree candidates! Muhlenberg graduates will celebrate the 2025 Commencement Ceremony on Sunday, May 18, 2025 at 10 a.m., at the PPL Center in Allentown. The event will be livestreamed on Muhlenberg's Commencement website.

Following one of the most successful seasons in program history, four Muhlenberg players earned spots on the All-Centennial Conference women's lacrosse team. Seniors Jillian Kubikowski and Emily Vaughan made the first team, giving the Mules two first-team selections for the first time since 2018. Sophomore Emma Youngling was a second-team pick, and junior Abba Diglio received honorable mention.

For the second straight season, five Muhlenberg players were named to the All-Centennial Conference men's lacrosse team. Sophomores Chase Kusko and Jack Bill landed on the first team, senior Brendan Lavarra was named to the second team, and senior Matthew Hochegger and sophomore Daniel Friedel received honorable mention.

After posting one of the biggest turnarounds in program history, the Muhlenberg baseball team had two of its players named to the All-Centennial Conference first team.

Senior Kaya Mahy picked up one of the league's major honors; she was named Gold Glove of the Year as the top defensive player. Sophomore Skyla Campisi earned first-team honors as a utility player, Mahy and junior Sarah Hulsen landed on the second team, and graduate student Gillian Zack received honorable mention.

Ten Muhlenberg College athletes were recognized for their behavior on the field, course, court and track with their selection to the 2025 Spring All-Centennial Conference Sportsmanship Team. Established by the conference's Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC), the All-Sportsmanship Team honors a member from each squad who displayed good sportsmanship throughout their career.

For the second straight year, Muhlenberg graduate student and 2024 All-American, Noel House, won the javelin at the All-Atlantic Region Track and Field Championships.

Fifty-eight class of 2025 student-athletes have been inducted into Chi Alpha Sigma -- the national scholar-athlete society honoring collegiate student-athletes who have excelled in the classroom and in competition. Recommended by head coaches, Muhlenberg inductees must have a grade point average of at least 3.5 and must have earned at least one varsity intercollegiate sport letter while displaying good moral character.

Senior Dana Scholars at Muhlenberg College choose a faculty mentor and partake in year-long rigorous academic inquiry on issues of public concern -- and present their collaborative research at the college's Dana Forum, late in their final spring semester. Projects that serve the community are strongly encouraged.

Four graduating seniors presented original capstone artwork during the annual Senior Art Exhibition this spring, in the Muhlenberg College Center for the Arts, Martin Art Gallery.

Christine Compton, Pen Argyl, Pa., will offer remarks as a graduating student during the Muhlenberg College commencement ceremony, Sunday, May 18 at 10 a.m., in the PPL Center, Allentown, Pa. Compton is earning a Muhlenberg Bachelor of Business Administration degree following a 20 year career in healthcare and a decade in healthcare administration at St. Luke's and Lehigh Valley Health Network/Jefferson Health. She is currently a member of the financial clearance leadership team at Lehigh Valley Health Network/Jefferson Health and will be pursuing her master's degree in healthcare management and leadership at Muhlenberg in the fall.

Teigan Brown, of Glenmoore, Pa., will offer remarks as a graduating senior during the Muhlenberg College commencement ceremony, Sunday, May 18 at 10 a.m., in the PPL Center, Allentown, Pa. A graduate of Downingtown STEM Academy, Brown is earning a Muhlenberg Bachelor of Science degree in neuroscience this spring. When not conducting research in the laboratory of Stanley Road Professor of Neuroscience Jeremy Teissere, Brown has been active within Student Government Association, on the President's Diversity Advisory Council, as an orientation leader, a Cardinal Key, and as a crew chief and EMT with Muhlenberg College EMS.

A public relation's internship has shown Media and Communication major, Marie Tohill, what her career may look like. "Interns at ArtsQuest are just as much a part of the action as the full-time staff. Right now, we are gearing up for Musikfest, the nation's largest free music festival, which will take over the ArtsQuest campus - and the rest of Bethlehem - from July 31 to August 10. I've written press releases to announce upcoming events, including headlining artists coming to perform at Musikfest. Additionally, I am working on an article for the ArtsQuest magazine, Inside ArtsQuest, about our relationship with a local supporter of our capital campaign. "

Senior Muhlenberg College film studies major Julian David Torres spent a day over winter break in ABC's Studio B, home of the network's long-running talk show, shadowing alumnus Brian Teta '98, the program's executive producer since 2017.

Accompanied by Associate Professor of Biology Giancarlo Cuadra, Ph.D., several Muhlenberg College students presented research at the PA Academy of Sciences meeting in Harrisburg, Pa., during the organization's 100th anniversary this spring. Sophie Tomov was awarded second place for best poster presentations (out of a field of roughly 200 presentations), and was awarded a grant to move forward in research on the "Effects of Cinnamon E-liquids on OKF6 Cell Toxicity and Death." Maya Tabakha was also awarded a grant to research "Phagocytosis, Escape and Invasion of Porphyromonas gingivalis under E-liquid Treatments." Both will take on their research with their Muhlenberg College biology lab mentor, Giancarlo Cuadra, Ph.D.

Academic awards are bestowed each spring at Muhlenberg College's annual Honors Convocation -- a formal academic ceremony designed to honor and celebrate leadership and scholarly excellence and achievement in the college community. This year's convocation was held on Sunday, April 27, in Egner Chapel.

Cunningham was among the founding members of A-Town Records, a student-run record label and music association. She also conducted research in music and held an internship with a record label during her semester in Dublin.

"The human mind is so interesting. There's so much left unknown," says Emma Shay, a psychology major with minors in women's and gender studies and Italian studies. "That's part of how I knew that specifically, research was for me - thinking about how there's so much that we don't know." (Click name to read full story):

As co-captain, Evan Schlotterbeck '25 helped lead the 2024 Muhlenberg men's soccer team to the Centennial Conference championship game. The team also earned an at-large bid to the NCAA Division III Tournament. Its the team's second appearance in the tournament in the last three years. Ty Palmieri, an economics major at Muhlenberg College, will finish his bachelor's degree a year early and head to the Charles Widger School of Law at Villanova University.

"I'm in a really unique position to be able to advocate for and alongside young people, getting a seat at the table and being part of these conversations about solutions, specifically around climate change," says Davidson. "It's so cool, and it makes so much sense that I ended up in this arena." Click name to read full story:

As a junior in high school, Ibrahim Sidibeh '25 dreamt that he was a psychiatrist helping a younger boy - so much so that the boy considered him a mentor and a father figure. Now as he prepares to graduate from Muhlenberg, his impact both on and off campus, has earned him the Harry A. Benfer Memorial Scholarship - an award given to a rising senior "who promotes goodwill and who has an appreciation for all phases of college life." Samuel Roter '25 is a familiar presence on Muhlenberg's stages - he's been in six departmental productions. Most notably, he played Pierre in last fall's musical, "Natasha, Pierre, & The Great Comet of 1812." The cult favorite, which ran on Broadway for less than a year, was the best known of the departmental productions he's been in. The challenge of performing in these more experimental, less commercially palatable shows has transformed his idea of what theatre can and should be. (Click name for full story):

The "Contemporary music festival: the music of Vincent Trovato" concert was held March 22, in the Baker Center for the Arts, Empie Theatre.

Fifty-two Muhlenberg College student-athletes were recognized for their performance in the classroom and on the court, mat and track with their selection to the Centennial Conference Academic Honor Roll for the winter 2024-25 season. To be named to the Academic Honor Roll, student-athletes must be sophomores or higher in class standing carrying at least a 3.40 cumulative grade-point average.

Five Muhlenberg athletes were recognized for their behavior on the court, mat, and track with their selection to the 2025 Winter All-Centennial Conference Sportsmanship Team.

Alpha Epsilon Delta is the national honor society for students who plan to enter the health professions. Student must have completed at least three semesters of pre-health coursework with at least a 3.2 GPA.

Muhlenberg basketball team senior Giovanni Rubino has been named to the D3hoops.com All-Region 5 second team. The all-region nod was the second for Rubino, who also earned second-team honors in 2023.

Three Muhlenberg sophomores, David Seel, Maya Richwine and Christopher Short, earned All-Metro Region honors from the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association.
