Academic awards are bestowed each spring at Muhlenberg College's annual Honors Convocation -- a formal academic ceremony designed to honor and celebrate leadership and scholarly excellence and achievement in the college community. This year's convocation was held on Sunday, April 26, in Egner Chapel.

At its core, "Twelfth Night" is about bringing people together, says Director James Peck. "It's important to make something that has a spirit of inclusion, supporting the sense of love and belonging and togetherness that's at the heart of what community means in the play."

Fourteen members of the Muhlenberg football team were recognized for their academic and athletic excellence by being named to the National Football Foundation's Hampshire Honor Society.

Alpha Epsilon Delta is the national honor society for students who plan to enter the health professions. Student must have completed at least three semesters of pre-health coursework with at least a 3.2 GPA.

Muhlenberg junior Christopher Short ended his 2026 indoor track and field season doing exactly what he did for most of the season - breaking a school record.

At the end of October, Muhlenberg made the podium at the Consortium for Computing Sciences in Colleges Northeast Region programming competition - again. The team of Aidan Hamilton '26 (a computer science major and mathematics minor), Abhilasha Talwar '28 (a mathematics major), and Max Trimmer '27 (a mathematics major) took third place, beating out larger schools including Villanova University.

Senior Muhlenberg field hockey player Erin DiSandro has been awarded an NCAA Postgraduate Scholarship. DiSandro will be attending medical school at the Lewis Katz School of Medicine at Temple University in Philadelphia after graduation.

Graduating in the top tenth of their high school class, Shankweiler Scholars exhibit significant extra-curricular accomplishments, SAT scores of at least 1350, and demonstrate interest in pursuing a medical degree upon entering college. To graduate with the "Shankweiler Scholar" designation, Muhlenberg students must carry a 3.3 GPA and successfully complete courses in "Medicine as a Human Endeavor," "Medicine and Society" and the senior year Shankweiler Scholars Seminar.

"Interns at ArtsQuest are just as much a part of the action as the full-time staff. Right now, we are gearing up for Musikfest, the nation's largest free music festival, which will take over the ArtsQuest campus - and the rest of Bethlehem - from July 31 to August 10. I've written press releases to announce upcoming events, including headlining artists coming to perform at Musikfest. Additionally, I am working on an article for the ArtsQuest magazine, Inside ArtsQuest, about our relationship with a local supporter of our capital campaign. "

First-year students, Karla Lazaro and Alessandra Rodriguez -- both members of the inaugural Muhlenberg team received the NCAA Women's Scholar All-American Award from the National Wrestling Coaches Association.

Muhlenberg's Class of 2025 will celebrate commencement on Sunday, May 18, 2025 at 10 a.m., in the PPL Center (Allentown). Ceremony speakers include award-winning psychologist and Muhlenberg honorary degree winner, Beverly Daniel Tatum, Ph.D., President Kathleen E. Harring, Ph.D., and graduating students Teigan Brown (Bachelor of Science degree in neuroscience) and Christine Compton (Bachelor of Business Administration).
